Iowa NBHA

About Us
Where beginners can be winners!

There is fun to be had by all when competing in the Iowa NBHA! Divided into five competition districts, the association boasts nearly 600 members. Many families compete alongside each other every weekend including several  grandparents with their grandchildren.

Each District holds up to 18 shows each year. Several of these shows are co-sanctioned between the districts and feature added money and prizes like saddles and buckles. Points accumulated at these and single district events earn members year-end awards in their District.

Competition is also available on a state level. In August, members will be competing for the State Champion Title in one of 13 divisions during the State Championships held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Members will gather for a weekend of fun.

Members can advance on to National competition as well with the youth competing in their World Championships in July in Mississippi and the open competition at the World Championships held annually in November in Perry, Georgia.

The Iowa NBHA leadership strives to be fair and professional at all times. Our goal is to work with others in the horse industry to provide barrel racers with safe, fun competition. Our vision for the future of barrel racing is the key to our growing membership.
